Benjamin Vincent, grandson of Karen Vincent
Benjamin Vincent, 3 year old grandson of Kaye McDonald's cousin, Karen Pace Vincent from Russellville AL, was diagnosed Friday with a rare condition called acute flaccid myelitis. He was put in the hospital early in the week with pneumonia but developed numbness in his arms which was alarming. He was taken by ambulance to Children's hospital in Birmingham where this condition was diagnosed. Limited research indicates there is no cure for this condition which is related to polio and West Nile Virus. There are treatments and therapies available depending on the Neuroligist involved but it is yet too early to know how this paralysis in his arms will progress. Please keep little Benjamin and his family in your prayers as they go through his treatments.
